DCTGPG 4- That's not the glow I meant.

Description

A supervillain’s plan to disable the Justice League results in a number of male superheroes becoming not only female, but also pregnant. They find themselves trapped in their female form until they give birth- provided they’re not stuck this way permanently- and they’re doing their best to adapt to their new situations, with some of them being more accepting of their impending motherhood than others. It's not long at all before they discover that their changes aren't merely physical, and that they aren't the only ones affected; as far as everyone but their closest friends and loved ones know, they've always been heroines...

Seriously, Haley Jordan is getting really tired of people telling her that; it's the ring that's glowing, not her.

Compared to most of the other transformed heroines, Jordan wasn’t particularly put off to discover that she was now a woman, most likely permanently. So she had breasts and was into guys now, big whoop; you don’t get to be one of the most decorated and storied  veterans in the history of the Green Lantern Corps without seeing some shit. Hell, compared to that time a primordial evil corrupted her mind (or rather, his mind, at the time) and used her to mercilessly massacre the Corps, this was nothing; she wasn't even particularly perturbed to discover that what she had thought was some pudge on her new body was in fact, triplets in their tenth week of gestation. Haley Jordan is just as confident in herself as a pregnant woman as she ever was as a man, and she wants to make sure everyone knows it, especially her old pal Kilowog, who's been treating her with kid gloves these last few months.

And pretty much all of what you just read was a lie.

Yes, she is who she claims to be, with all that it entails, and yes, she is sick of her friends in the Corps treating her like she's made of glass, but the truth is that she's feeling pretty fragile herself these days. Miss Jordan is, despite what she'd lead you to believe, nowhere near as self-assured as she once was; unlike the other heroines, Haley still isn't comfortable with being a woman after all these months, what with her new body and her new feelings. Everyone else came to terms with their new situations and romantic prospects pretty quickly; things are getting pretty serious between Superwoman and Mister Olsen, and the Flash is just as much of a shameless flirt as she ever was (she's just flirting with guys these days), but Haley is still uncomfortable with how hot Sodam Yat is now, and how flustered she gets whenever he talks to her. A Green Lantern is measured by her ability to conquer her fear, but Haley Jordan is feeling pretty fearful these days; she's scared of the possibility that she'll be stuck as a woman for the rest of her life, she's scared of her new feelings, and most of all, she's  absolutely terrified at the prospect of giving birth, and every kick she feels fills her with a fresh wave of panic.

But the Corps has an image to uphold, so Haley buries her feelings and tries to pretend that everything is all hunky-dory with her current condition. Unfortunately, a Green Lantern's ring creates constructs based on its wielder's thoughts, and a secretly panicking Haley just can't stop thinking about her condition. So she's trying to play it cool and act like she isn't worried, and all the while, her ring keeps popping out constructs of babies and baby-related objects entirely against her will, and it's really pissing her off.

So yeah, rule 63 Hal Jordan. Not really much left to say about this one; I just thought the idea of a Green Lantern losing control of heir ring due to inner turmoil was interesting, and would fit well with the idea of Hal not being okay with being turned into a pregnant woman but pretending to be on account of the GL Corps's rep. This won't be the only GL pic, I'm thinking of a group pic of Kylie Rayner, June Stewart, and Gal Gardner (fun fact, Gal Gardner actually was a thing in the nineties, you know, during his edgy "Warrior" phase; a supervillain turns him into a woman, though Guy's personality is unaffected, and yes, the idea of "her" getting pregnant is mentioned during a conversation in which "Gal" complains about how inconvenient having tits is and no I'm not joking). I think I'll stick with the same shade of green for the lips, because the idea of Corps-issued makeup amuses me.

On an unrelated tangent, there actually was a pregnant Green Lantern, around the time of Blackest Night and whatnot; her name was Amnee Pree (ha ha), and I wouldn't recommend googling her, because she is downright fugly.
